Talking helps

Working with a counsellor or psychotherapist can support you to find new ways to wellbeing.

Society often assumes that being a person is easy.

It’s common sense, right? We’re born, we grow, we learn and become confident grownups…

Yet there can be times when we come to recognise unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving in our lives that adversely affect our wellbeing and we cannot easily see a way to improving our relationships or feeling better about ourselves.

And for some of us there are times when just day to day living becomes frightening and even overwhelming. This might be due to our response to loss after a painful life event, a sudden relationship rupture, the troubling recurrence of past experiences or harmful behaviours we can’t seem to stop.

This is where meeting with someone trained to listen can be a vital source of support.

Establishing a relationship with a therapist provides a secure space to explore aspects of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours we find difficult to acknowledge and understand. Engaging with the process can give us new perspectives on ourselves, uncovering new options for growing into being truly our own person.
